Flowersuite for Piano (Book without CD)
'The relationship between flowers and music is not just limited to Celebrations…'
Many famous classical composers have been inspired to write compositions dedicated to flowers, for instance: Waltz of the flowers - Tchaikovsky, Les roses d’lspahan - Fauré, Daisies - Rachmaninoff, Heidenröslein - Schubert.
We can also find nice examples in other musical genres; Jazz: Honeysuckle rose - Fats Waller, Days of wine and roses - Henri Mancini, Passion flower/A flower is a lovesome thing/Lotus blossom - Billy Strayhorn, Little sunflower - Freddie Hubbard, Wildflower - Wayne Shorter, Petite fleur - Sidney Bechet and many more.
In movies there are several examples, such as Edelweiss - Sound of Music and The Rose - Bette Midler, and of course in popular music: San Antonio Rose - country and western, Black Orchid - rock and last but not least Tulips from Amsterdam…
I wrote my little Suite dedicated to 5 flowers, in the keys of the first letter of their names and each piece is based on a specific technique.
